Monthly Message from MD - July & August

Over the last 2 years, the management team of Dalkia in Ireland have been reviewing the strategy that is required to add further value to the products & services that we offer to our clients here on the island of Ireland.

As part of this review we were delighted to announce on June 25th 2010, that MITIE Group PLC acquired the integrated Facilities Management (FM) business of Dalkia in Ireland. This involved the acquisition by MITIE of the entire issued share capital of DFM Providers Limited (“DFM”) in RoI and Dalkia Energy & Facilities Limited (“DEF”) in NI from Dalkia Ireland Investments Ltd.

Resulting from these developments, both Dalkia and MITIE will work together in a strategic partnership to provide a seamless service for clients here in Ireland. The partnership will provide a stronger customer focused service by drawing on the hard FM and energy management expertise of Dalkia and the soft FM skills of MITIE. The combination of both organisations will provide a market leading service and we are confident that this strategic partnership will result in best in class service for all our clients in Ireland.

To ensure that this strategy will operate effectively, I am pleased to announce that Padraig Byrne (Deputy Managing Director – Dalkia) will take on the role of Managing Director (MITIE Facilities Management Ltd) here in Ireland, from 1st July 2010, while remaining on the Board of Dalkia in a non –executive capacity.
