Dalkia can provide energy cost savings to our clients in numerous ways. These range from cost free methods such as efficient use of HVAC controls and lighting schedules by Dalkia's onsite facility managers, to projects requiring capital expenditure such as replacement of compressed air production/distribution plants, or the installation of combined, heat and power units.
Should your business not have the funds available to invest in a capital intensive energy project, Dalkia can offer a financing package such that repayments can be made over the life of the project – therefore providing potential savings from day one. Added to this, Dalkia can provide a full turnkey package and manage the entire installation from Design and Build, through to Operation and Maintenance of the asset.
This Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Maintain (DBFOM) contract is delivered in the following manner:
Design, Build, Finance:
| Purchase of the equipment as per specified sizing requirements, | |
| Ownership of the commissioning of all plant and equipment, | |
| Installation of equipment in agreement with client's timelines and deadlines. |
Operation & Maintenance:
| Ongoing planned and corrective maintenance, | |
| Purchase and installation of all equipment parts, | |
| Full responsibility over subcontractors contracts, | |
| Regular reporting and communication with the client to discuss KPIs and contracted service level agreement. |
Energy Supply:
| Primary energy usage paid for by Dalkia, | |
| The client will be subsequently invoiced for the use of utilities during a predefined period - typically one month. In this way the client need only concern themselves with utility consumption as Dalkia take ownership and accountability for keeping all equipment in a functioning state. | |
| Onus on Dalkia to ensure the equipment is operating as efficiently as possible as Dalkia will take commitment on providing the utilities at a predetermined unit rate e.g. €/MWh chilled water, €/tonne of steam, €/Nm3 of compressed air etc. | |
| Based on a Service Level Agreement (SLA) agreed upon by both parties, Dalkia will guarantee the distribution of utilities up to the standard and availability as specified in the SLA. |
Replacement Guarantee:
In order to keep all equipment operating as efficiently as possible, refurbishment and replacement of major parts will be required over the length of the contract.
Dalkia will pay for all these major items to be replaced for the full term of the contract. Typically, the length of the contract is 15 years, but this can vary depending on the project.
